How to create a video puzzle
Find the right video
The first step to creating the video puzzle is to find the right video. Here there are some technical and visual constraints that you need to take into consideration:
- Video with too many movements or scene cuts might be hard to solve
- Video with too many movements might make some people dizzy
- The video file cannot be bigger than 5MBytes
- The video cannot be longer than 15 secs
In summary, you should record or find a short video that doesn’t have too many abrupt movements (depending on your target audience).

Create the video puzzle
Time needed: 2 minutes.
You can easily create a video puzzle in 5 steps:
- Open I’m a Puzzle
In your web browser open the https://im-a-puzzle.com website
- Click on the Sign in button
Differently from the regular puzzles, to create a video puzzle you must first sign in using your Google or Facebook account.
- Open the video
Click on the button My Pictures and select the video file.
- Select the puzzle mode and difficulty
Click on the desired puzzle mode and difficulty. The more difficult the puzzle is, the more pieces it has. Not all puzzle modes are allowed for video puzzles. If you want to know more about the various puzzle modes, check the quick start guide.
- Press the Share button
Click the share button to start the puzzle creation process
- Create the puzzle
Give your puzzle a title and press the Create Puzzle button
The video puzzle will be uploaded to the I’m a Puzzle server. This might take some seconds.
If the video file is longer than 15 secs, it will be trimmed automatically during the upload process.
Once the upload finishes you will receive a link to your puzzle. You can copy and paste this link, or just press one of the share options to share your video puzzle on various social media networks.
